Packing Update and meet Jack!

Well nine more days until we pick up the Uhaul~Praise the Lord!  Got some more packing done today and took our bed frame and headboard off.  Our bedroom is 98 percent packed.  Just have pillows and blankets and church outfit for me and Bill hanging in our closet.  Also got some health and beauty items packed that we won't need for a bit.  Here is a pic of our bedroom:

Not too bad, we are getting there.  I still have kitchen stuff to pack and last minute stuff, but I think we are doing well overall.  I put some listings on Craigslist for a few things we are trying to sell, pray that they sell!  We have a 26 foot uhaul and I need to downsize a bit.  Also, we figured it will be about $650.00 just for gas for the uhaul...thud!  Any money we make we will put toward that.  So expensive to move, but we know we are in the Lords will and He will provide.

So...back in December Billy, Tara and I went to our local supply store.  They sell bulk flour, spices and things like that.  Well on that particular day (5 days before Christmas) they were selling puppies for $20.00.  Billy had been begging for his own puppy because Tara has Pumpkin (our labradoodle).  Billy said he had enough money to buy one so could he pleeeezzzzzzzzzz.  I called Bill and he said if it was okay with me to go ahead.  Big mistake, or not, lol...depending on how you look at it.  Well this little guy and I fell in love.  He follows me everywhere, including our bed (yeah, Bill isn't exactly thrilled about that), and I just LOVE him!  He isn't the cutest dog, or the best behaved, but he SO LOVES me!  How can I resist!  Here is a pic I just took of him, looking very sad because of our bedroom being different:
Isn't he so sweet?  Tabitha told me he has attachment issues because if I leave without him he gets big tears.  He actually cries and barks at the bathroom door if I don't let him in.  But! Even I have to draw the line somewhere.  I'm worried that he will have a hard time adjusting to his new surroundings, but I know as long as I'm nearby he will be okay.

By the way, I am on chapter 5 of the book Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker and I am really loving it!  It's kind of the first book I have read that gives you a "northern" look at the Civil War.

Have a great day!
Blessings,
Terry

Starting a new book

A while back I got a book from the library and didn't get a chance to read it.  The title is Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker by Jennifer Chiaverini:
It really sounded interesting and I would love to read it. However, I am spoiled and prefer reading from my Nook.  Well, for Mother's Day Buddy and Kayla sent me a gift card for my Nook and I had purchased a couple of apps (have now totally completed Angry Birds, not sure if I should admit that, LOL) and I saw that this book was available so I decided to purchase this yesterday.  I read chapter 1 yesterday and am hoping to get some time today to read more.  I will keep you posted on what I think of it.  I'm pretty excited about it.

Since I am talking about books, I highly recommend the Calaway Summer Series by Jennifer Erin Valent.  This series really opens your eyes about prejudice.  They are extremely well written and from a Christian author.  There is a little bit of everything in them.  Some humor, a little romance (very clean) and some action.  They will make you laugh and cry.  Definite must reads!  We have told lots of people about these books and each person who has read them, has loved them!

Thanks for looking and please keep us in prayer, we pick up the uhaul on the 31st of  July and are praying to arrive back home in Connecticut by August 2nd!

Blessings,
Terry

Heading back home...

Well, I really was hoping to be better about posting, but obviously I haven't.  I will update with we our moving back home to Connecticut!  We moved here to Tennessee almost a year ago with the Lord's leading.  The Lord had us here for a season and now He is moving us back to Connecticut.  We are truly excited and can't wait to be reunited with family and old friends.  The good Lord has provided so much for us already.  My husband has his old job back and our daughter and son-in-law found us a lovely home to rent.  The house is close to his work and all of our family.  We will be going back to our church family at Calvary Baptist.  We can hardly wait!  If you could all pray for safety for our travels I would appreciate it.  It's a seventeen hour trip but will probably take longer since my husband will be driving a 26 foot uhaul.  We also have two cats and two dogs to bring back with us.  We will be traveling "Noah's Arc" style, LOL.  We have two people riding in the uhaul, two in the mini van and two in the mini wagon, then add the two dogs and two cats :0)  So please keep us in your prayers!  We pick up the uhaul on the 31st of July and will be traveling the next two days.  We can't afford to stay at a hotel so we will be sleeping at rest areas.  We are going to take our time and drive slow and steady.

I also want to update our school year.  Tara and Billy had their best year ever in our homeschooling. Tara is officially now a freshman in high school and Billy is in 6th grade. We truly loved the curriculum we used from Simply Charlotte Mason and will continue to use the same this year.  We may be starting a bit later than I wanted to because of the move, but that is one of the perks of homeschooling.

Tabitha and Krista have been busy this year with all of their crafting.  The girls have an etsy site up and running and we have had a few sales.  We also did a craft show in Alabama that was very successful.  They haven't put anything new up in quite some time on etsy, since we are moving.  Once we are settled and change the address they will be up and running again.  They have also come up with some other business ideas that they will get started on once we get settled.

I will really start picking up my speed cross stitching when we get settled.  I have so many Christmas ideas and I really want to make all of my cards this year.  I just LOVE making them! Here is a card that I made for a dear friend at Easter this year:
I did sell some cards on etsy and some at craft shows, I love doing it!  I also am currently working on Petal Fairy by Mirabilia, don't have a pic but it is coming out lovely!  I also can't wait to get back to my Heaven and Earth Design, Lady Seated At Her Needlework.  But I can't have all of my projects out...gotta keep packing!  I will try to update again before we leave for Connecticut.  Once we get there, we won't have phone or internet until the 8th of August.  Have a blessed day!
